the rise of dreamer

Dreamer, a band conceived in the mid fall of 2010 by two brothers, a close friend and a total stranger. After The Shields Brothers decided it was time to start a new musical project, the search was on for two other like minded individuals whose passion was that of music. Kyle, a close friend of Nathan happened to be one of those like minded individuals, and from there, the three started the writing process.

While searching for a fourth member, the Shields brothers and "The Event" had started to create a new sound that was stemming away from the old alterative sound that the Shields brothers has established with their old band. The new sound reflected more of the 80's era rock and metal sound that the Shields brothers had been exposed to when growing up.

As the writing process continued, auditions for a second guitarist who could help add to this new sound that was developing were held. After countless auditions and through a mutual friend of "The Event", Skaggs was introduced to the Shields Brothers and "The Event" himself met Skaggs for the first time.

Skaggs proved that his style of lead guitar could help bring more to the new sound that Christian, Nathan and "The Event" had already begun to create. Upon Skaggs joining of the group, the subject of a name for the group was brought up and discussed, and after much consideration, the name "Dreamer" was decided upon.

Jan, 2011, Dreamer Recorded their Debut Album "Turn It Up" at Killingsworth Recording in Farmingdale, New York. "Turn It Up" is a unique fusion of old and new hard rock and metal and elements of pop punk, hence creating catchy hard rock music that leaves the listener wanting to hear it again and again.

Dreamer's live shows consists of Screeching guitar solos, grooving bass lines, rocking drums and 80's style vocal howls, all creating a high energy show leaving the crowd hungry for more. The Raw, Energetic hard rock music, and the combination of leather pants, chains, and studded belts, make Dreamer a sight and sound that one has to both see and hear to believe.

To date, Dreamer has currently had the honor to share the stage with, Hawthorne Heights, Saving Abel, Candlebox, All That Remains, Hollywood Undead, Night Rage, Firewind and Hugo Ferreira Of Tantric.
